How to Donate
Make a Difference in Plainville
For our Plainville community, that hand is the Plainville Community Food Pantry. With 75% of our total support and revenue coming from public contributions, it’s clear that the spirit of giving thrives here.
However, as the needs of our community grow, so does our need for your help. Your donations and volunteering not only provide immediate relief but also hope for a better tomorrow.

Planned Gifts
Planned gifts are a wonderful way to support the work of the pantry while also benefiting you and your loved ones. These gifts, which require some forethought and planning, can provide you (and a second beneficiary, if you choose) with an income for life, either outright or deferred.
Options for planned gifts include charitable bequests through your will, charitable gift annuities, or remainder trusts. With these arrangements, you retain full ownership and control of your assets during your lifetime. Upon your death, your gift moves to the Plainville Community Food Pantry, playing a vital role in our mission to serve those in need.
By setting up a planned gift, you can also enjoy tax benefits such as a charitable contribution deduction and the removal of taxable assets from your estate. (Please consult your tax advisor or attorney for details.)
To learn more about designating the Plainville Community Food Pantry as the beneficiary of a planned gift, please reach out to our Executive Director, Susie Woerz, at 860-747-1919.
Bequests
One of the most straightforward ways to make a future gift is through a bequest in your will. Like planned gifts, you maintain full ownership and control of your assets during your lifetime, with the gift coming to the PCFP upon your death.
If you’re considering a bequest to the PCFP, please share this language with your attorney:
“I give, devise and bequeath % (percentage) of the net value of my estate, or $_ (sum of money), or _______ (named property), or all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate to The Plainville Community Food Pantry, Inc., located in Plainville, Connecticut.”
Memorial and Honorary Donations
In Memoriam Gifts
Honor the memory of a loved one with a donation to the PCFP. We’ll send a personalized card to the family of the deceased, acknowledging your thoughtful gesture.
In Honor Gifts
Celebrate a loved one’s special occasion — such as a birthday, anniversary, graduation, or retirement — with a donation in their honor. This unique gift touches lives and shows your care for both the honoree and the recipients.
When making a memorial or honorary donation, please provide the necessary details, and we’ll send a personalized card acknowledging your gift.
Fill Out FormMatching Gifts
Many companies encourage charitable giving by matching their employees’ donations dollar-for-dollar, effectively doubling the impact of your gift. (Some even triple the amount!)
Check with your company’s personnel or human resource office to see if they offer a matching gift program. Not only does this amplify your generosity, but it also demonstrates your employer’s commitment to supporting local communities.
Volunteer
We offer flexible volunteer opportunities, allowing you to contribute time-based on your schedule. There are no minimum requirements. If you’d like to volunteer, please call us at 860-747-1919, or stop by the Pantry for a tour.
Your support today helps us to continue serving those in need in our community. Thank you for your generosity!
